Here we go – iOS 26 is almost here and your iPhone is about to look (and act) differently. Apple’s big software update is meant to reach millions of handsets.
If you have a:
iPhone XS Max
iPhone XS
iPhone XR
…you won’t get iOS 26, as these (and older) devices are not eligible for the update.
But if you have a device of the iPhone 11 family (or later) – including the second-gen iPhone SE – you’re good to go.
Apple fans are eager to give the new iOS 26 a run, so regardless of where you’re located across the world, here are the local rollout times you should expect. For convenience, they are grouped by region and common time zones and are based on the eventual 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time/1:00 p.m. Eastern Time release.

What iOS 26 is all about
iOS 26 focuses on visual redesigns, usability improvements, and practical Apple Intelligence upgrades, though Siri remains largely untouched. The Camera app now separates photo and video modes with a minimalist interface, while Safari adopts a distraction-free full-screen design.
The Phone app consolidates favorites, recent calls, and voicemails, adding Call Screening to block unknown numbers, and Messages gains message filtering, polls, dynamic wallpapers, and Apple Cash group payments.
Apple Intelligence introduces Live Translation, enhanced Visual Intelligence, Genmoji, and Image Playground for creative tools. Apple Music adds AutoMix, Lyrics Translation, and Lyrics Pronunciation. Maps offers proactive routing, Wallet organizes orders and digital keys, and CarPlay receives a compact interface with improved widgets.
Accessibility and AI-powered battery optimization should further enhance usability.
All in all, it’s a must for many people – and I doubt anyone will stay on iOS 18 (the previous version of Apple’s smartphone operating system).

The world’s thinnest foldable, the Honor V5, was announced a couple of months ago in China and then launched outside of China on August 28. Now, the company reports that it’s been recording impressive early sales performance for the Magic V5 smartphone across Western Europe.
Honor says that based on sales data from all its channels, the sales in just the first week after the launch were 75% higher than what the company saw with the foldable’s predecessor, the Honor Magic V3.
Reportedly, both e-commerce platforms and Honor channel partners report there is a significant growth since the phone was introduced. Last year, Honor became the fastest-growing book-type foldable maker in Europe. Its market share tripled to 34%, according to a Counterpoint Research report.
The HONOR Magic V5, with industry-leading slimness and revolutionary AI features, is truly a game changer. We are delighted to see that customers across Western Europe are excited to get their hands on our latest foldable smartphone
-Adam Cao, President of HONOR Western Europe.
Cao also says that these initial sales reflect also a strong market interest for AI-powered foldable smartphones.
The Honor Magic V5 is super thin while still maintaining durability and an IP58 and IP59 rating for dust and water resistance. The foldable sports a reliable 5,820 mAh silicon-carbon battery and a new AI Falcon Camera System. The camera features a 64 MP Ultra Sensing Periscope Telephoto lens as well.
The Magic V5 sports a 7.95-inch inner display and a 6.43-inch cover screen, both supporting stylus input. You can run up to three apps simultaneously thanks to Multi-Flex mode.
The phone can be yours starting at £1,699.99 (16GB + 512GB) in the UK and €1,999 (16GB+512GB) in Europe.
In my opinion, there’s a growing popularity for foldable phones as well, especially thin and refined ones. It’s not just Honor, Samsung has also been enjoying some nice popularity with its recently revealed Galaxy Z Fold 7 phone. All in all, the foldable market seems to be catching people’s attention, finally, and I think this is great. In the meantime, Apple is yet to announce a foldable iPhone, which is something I’m eager to see (probably, next year).

A massive hacking operation was recently conducted against Orange SA — a French telecom company — by a group calling itself Warlock. Four gigabytes of data has been posted on the dark web this month, while the attack itself took place back in July.
Orange had disclosed details about the attack to concerned authorities last month, before the data got leaked on the web. The company itself has confirmed that the data has been published online, but refused to comment on either the hacker group or any companies affected by the attack.
Orange has claimed (subscription required) that the information that was stolen is only “outdated or low-sensitivity” data, so users need not worry. The company also said that the hackers, who possibly wanted to demand ransomware, were only able to gain limited access to its systems.
This is far from the first time that Orange has been the victim of a data breach. The same month as this attack was taking place, the Belgian division of Orange was also hacked. In that incident, the user data of 850,000 individuals was stolen. Coupled with the Warlock attack, this is the fourth major hack conducted against Orange during just this year.

Telecom companies are, naturally, a very attractive target for hacker groups like Warlock. Customer data is valuable, and can make for a lucrative ransom opportunity. However, some telecom data breaches are carried out for a different purpose: geopolitical tensions.
For example, a short while back, a group of Chinese hackers called Salt Typhoon gained access to U.S. telecom companies. The group managed to access text and call logs that took place between government officials and other personnel connected to national security.
Some maintain that the Salt Typhoon attack was organized by the Chinese government against the U.S., a claim that the former has denied. T-Mobile also noticed suspicious activity in its network around that time, but was actually able to remove the threat before any data could be accessed illegally.
Recently, AT&T customers who had been affected by a prior data breach just began to receive their settlement checks. Such attacks will, unfortunately, likely continue for a very long time ahead.
